Summer-Isn't-Over-Yet Workout!

With teachers going back to work in Louisiana, and with students going back to school absurdly early in Georgia, many of us may feel like our summer is officially gone. Thank goodness we live in the south and can still enjoy the warm weather!

In yesterday's post, I mentioned  the benefits of exercising outside. With this hot and humid weather, that advice may not seem like a reasonable suggestion. It's ridiculously hot. Fortunately, my parents have a beautiful backyard with a pool, and I decided that would be the location of my workout! (I know not everyone has a pool, but you can call that friend with a pool and suggest a swim!)

Here's what today's workout looked like:

If getting in and out of the pool for a circuit workout isn't your thing, then treading water for 20 minutes is a good cardio workout all by itself! (But strength is important, too, so don't leave it out entirely!)

I've been in New Orleans for about a week and a half now, and tomorrow I'm waking up at the crack of dawn to drive back to Houston. Of course I'm bringing paleo snacks with me :)  Fast food on the road can be tasty, but it makes me feel pretty gross. So I have some Krave brand beef jerky and a couple of Larabars. I also downloaded Of Mice and Men on my iphone so I can listen to it on the way home. Audio books make drives much more bearable. And then I get to see Ryan :)

Anyways, tomorrow I will tackle a Tabata sprint workout. Get excited!

Good night!
