FAMILY TIME
I feel blessed to have such great holiday tradition of extended family getting together over the holidays. Everyone lives pretty close by (except now me and Ryan live 5 hours away...), so it's not the only time of year we all get to see everyone.
FRIENDS
Leaving behind a good group of friends when you move is sad. I really miss getting margaritas with New Orleans friends! I'm looking forward to meeting up with a few people over my winter break.
But I do have a great group of co-workers here in Houston I've become friends with! Teaching is stressful, but we know how to unwind :) One teacher bought us all mini nerf guns as Christmas gifts, and a nerf gun war ensued.

I am a ridiculous sweater. If the temperature is above 60 degrees, I'll sweat buckets. There have been a few mornings when the temperature was in the 40s (I know...the south is great) and my workouts on those days were amazing. I can move faster and not pause every two minutes to wipe sweat off my face. And it's refreshing. Houston is hot and humid, so those cold mornings feel great :)
HAPPY MOVIES
Who isn't excited when Elf comes on television? It's a great Christmas movie, and I still laugh out loud every time I watch it! I also love seeing holiday-themed sitcoms and old Christmas movies on television. Everyone is happy because they're doing something for others. It's nice to have happy programs on tv every once in a while!

I know some people find holiday parties stressful - and they certainly can be - but I love them because it makes me really happy to see decorated homes, homemade meals, and a bunch of people together celebrating the happy things in life.
Question: What do you love about the holidays? Even if you're not a big fan of the holidays, what is something positive that comes from all of the celebration?
