Strange-Looking but Effective Exercise Moves

I grow bored very quickly with exercise routines, so new challenges are always welcome. Pinterest served me well in this area for the longest time, but I visit the health/fitness page so often that everything seems very familiar. I managed to stumble across a few new moves, and I wanted to share them with you! Many of these exercises were found on a post from cottercrunch.com. Each title is a link to its respective page.

v-up-press

Apparently, this is called a boat pose. I would have just called it a "V" pose, but someone else things it looks like a boat.

It's important to stand up straight each time. The person in this video created a great, unique exercise, but the range of motion needs to be complete each time. Also, I believe I would call it "The Awkward Ninja."

I thought I came up with this one myself, but a quick YouTube search told me otherwise. I haven't actually tried this one yet, but I can't wait!

donkey-burpee-shoulders

I don't have to rename this one. This move very much resembles a donkey. Liftingrevolution.com aptly named it. If you're big into yoga/balance, then you could try to actually balance in the handstand. Or fall over backwards. All for the purpose of being fit :)

Train your six-pack with this intense athletic routine.

Muscle Monkey? That's what I call this move. You really don't have to be as muscular as the gentleman above to perform this move. Locate a pullup bar, either in the gym or outdoor fitness gym equipment, and just hangout ;)

Weight Plate Handstands

hand stand on barbell plates DANG! #fitfam

Just Kidding :)

I'm not sure how I managed two posts in one day. I guess I was just inspired ;) Here's today's earlier post about a delicious breakfast which provides the perfect fuel for oddball exercises like these!

Question to Readers: What is your favorite exercise that you always go back to? Personally, I love squats!

Good night!

    1. I have to have fun while I workout, and the donkey burpees did the trick :)

  2. Hard to beat squats. I often come back to stuff I learned at the Renaissance Festival. Lunges for rapier work are always a biggie.

    1. It is hard to beat squats. I always try to search for variations of those too, but I think I've exhausted the new squat potential.
